When a figure is an estimate or a commonly reported range rather than an official statistic, we say so and hedge accordingly.
We do not invent numbers to make a point. Where markets are volatile — and coastal and wildfire-exposed markets certainly are — we prefer to describe the direction of travel and the range of outcomes rather than to present a single figure as certainty.
